Traveling Charm Belt Project
This year I had the opportunity to be apart of a grand project. The traveling charm belt, which is made up of over 300 fellow silversmiths! Each of us made a charm that represented us or our business. The charm belt will be worn at the 2025 NFR. As well as raffled and the proceeds will go to the Justin Boots Cowboy Crisis Fund!
I chose to use an Australian 50 cent coin that I had saved from one of my times visiting my family in Australia! This piece means a lot to me, not only is it sentimental but it’s also a look into what I’m gonna do in the future, the development of my style as a smith. As well as it is the largest piece I’ve ever made to date, as well as my first mixed metal piece.
I am so thankful & blessed to be able to have this opportunity to create a piece for such a wonderful cause. Growing up in a family of generations of cowboys and cowgirls, the Justin Boots Crisis Fund is very near to my heart. I am honored to contribute this piece to the project.

-Meet the Maker-
Hello, my name is Cass Hopper I am the owner of Hoppalong Silver Co. located out of Stanfield, OR.
I am a jeweler and a self taught silversmith! I started small with beading & metal stamping, and now I am loving learning silversmithing!
Along with being a jeweler I am also a stay at home mom to two cow-kids; Lucas - 3 year old & Andrea - 1 year old. They keep me on my toes and just as busy as the business, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I started my business because of my love for western fashion & its history as well as my love for turquoise & other beautiful stones.
I also I want to teach my kids that if you work hard, have faith & go after what you want, you can achieve anything you set your mind too; just as my mom did for my brother and I.
I absolutely love making jewelry and designing custom pieces that will last generations. Thank you for being here and supporting me on my journey of achieving my goals.
